Delivery of A Galeotta by the Visentini shipyard

news-details

Almost 3 years after announcing the signing of the construction contract for our first new vessel powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), A Galeotta was officially delivered to us on December 6, 2022 by the Visentini shipyard in Italy.

A new stage in the development of our company has thus just been reached with the arrival of A Galeotta, our first new vessel powered by Liquefied Natural Gas. A reception carried out at the Visentini shipyard in Porto Viro and coming to salute the exceptional commitment of the team dedicated to the project for 3 years under the responsibility of Captain Sillan.

A commercial launch planned for early 2023

A Galeotta will definitively leave Italy this weekend in order to reach Marseille and thus finalize the preparation of the operation & in particular the fitting out of its interior spaces. The goal? To be ready for the commercial launch of the ship in early January, on the Bastia and Ajaccio lines.

And to mark this unprecedented moment, two inauguration ceremonies are being organized on January 5 (blessing of the ship in Ajaccio) & January 6 (inauguration of the first stopover). The opportunity to celebrate the arrival of the 9th ship in our fleet and to look back on the 7 beautiful years that have passed under the red livery.

A new device to complete our energy mix

This ship, equipped with a substantial garage for the freight activity & designed for the passenger customer experience, was designed to be equipped with an immediately operational transition energy, allowing our company to be part of a sustainable maritime transport movement. in Mediterranean. Indeed, the use of LNG as a fuel is an effective response to the various current environmental challenges.
